Embroidery machine “Brother VR” with one needle and manual thread/colour change. The maximum embroidery area is 200 x 200mm. On the touchscreen display of the machine, you can write small words or select embroidery designs from a library. If you want to stitch custom designs, you need to create the embroidery path in the “PFAFF PREMIER+™2 Ultra” embroidery software available at the fablab. As template we usually prepare a .EPS vector file, but for some designs also pixel files like .JPG or .PNG work great. 

There are a lot of accessories like different frame sizes, a special frame for baseball caps or a quilting frame and table available.  

Once a month takes place a machine course to learn how to operate the machine and the embroidery software.

 

Start

You need a vector or pixel file (.EPS .JPG .PNG) or select a template for fonts and graphics from the library.

Software

Please attend a embroidery machine course, the software is really complicated.

Industrial sewing machine model “Simac SI 9850-MI” with table for sewing hard textiles like cotton, hard garments, thin leather. The sewing speed can be set, for beginners it`s recommended to start with the slowest speed setting. This sewing machine has only one program “straight stitch” but you can set the distance between the stitches. 

Always ask the fablab team before using the machine and we will give you all necessary information about working safety.

PFAFF Coverlock sewing machine

PFAFF Coverlock sewing machine

The “PFAFF Coverlock 4862” is a coverlock sewing machine specially designed for processing cloth. With this sewing machine, you can:

  • Create overlock stitches: these types of stitches are used to hold two layers of fabric together without the back of the fabric showing.
  • Sew two or more layers of fabric together to create a thicker and sturdier fabric.
  • Create elastic seams that adapt to the body’s movements, ensuring a high degree of freedom of movement.
  • Create rolled hem seams: this is a special type of seam that is used to make the edges of fabrics look neat and professional.
  • Use extra presser feet and accessories: with the PFAFF Coverlock 4862, additional presser feet and accessories can be used to work with different types of seams and fabrics.

In diesem Einführungs- und Sicherheitskurs für das Fablab Bozen lernst du alles Wichtige über die sichere Verwendung der verschiedenen Maschinen und Werkzeuge im Fablab. Du wirst erfahren, welche Vorsichtsmaßnahmen du ergreifen musst, um dich und andere sicher zu halten, wenn du die Maschinen und Werkzeuge verwendest.

Wir beginnen mit einer Einführung in die grundlegenden Sicherheitsregeln und -prozeduren, die im Fablab gelten, wie zum Beispiel das Tragen von Schutzbrillen und Handschuhen. Du wirst auch lernen, wie man die Maschinen und Werkzeuge richtig verwendet und welche Vorsichtsmaßnahmen du ergreifen musst, um sicher zu arbeiten.

Während des Kurses werden wir uns auch mit den spezifischen Sicherheitsaspekten der verschiedenen Maschinen und Werkzeuge im Fablab beschäftigen. Du wirst lernen, wie man die Werkzeuge richtig einstellt und verwendet, und welche Vorsichtsmaßnahmen du ergreifen musst, um sicher zu arbeiten.

Am Ende des Kurses wirst du in der Lage sein, die Maschinen und Werkzeuge im Fablab sicher und effektiv zu verwenden und dein Wissen über die Sicherheitsprozeduren zu vertiefen. Du wirst auch in der Lage sein, deine Fähigkeiten bei der Verwendung der verschiedenen Werkzeuge und Maschinen zu verbessern und dich sicher im Fablab zu bewege
